I know this is random but I wanna learn DaVinci resolve…is it like after effects? Or is it totally different?? lol idk it’s always recommended as an alternative and the name always sounded cool to me like “whoa DaVinci? Must be good” 😂

The free version you can get is still INCREDIBLY powerful, so would highly recommend trying it just to see how you like it.

At its core, it's color grading software. At least, that's how it started life. Nowadays, it's a surprisingly robust suite of tools, including editing, audio, color grading (of course) and Fusion for digital effects. I'd compare it more to Premiere. After Effects is a whole different animal.
