They are describing how every leadership position works. Every CEO in America spends all day being told where to go and reminded of what they’re doing by a staff of people doing most of the actual work.

also, you know what else causes doom and gloom in an org? when some whiny shithead (or five) keeps leaking stories about dysfunction for personal reasons, creating an atmosphere of paranoia and suspicion if you believe it's so unsalvageable, quit and go public with it
