Romania. Decree 770. Married couples feared intimacy, families were torn apart, & the average rate for back alley abortions was 3 per woman. MMR data stopped being recorded. Some states are now doing the same. Later estimates were 10K women & approximately 15K in children abandoned to orphanages.
