honestly, weirdly radicalizing? there are only so many times you can watch people make the same shitty assumptions before you’re like, “i’m gonna go rip shots in the back room so i don’t freak on the guy explaining the mouthfeel of coors to the woman barkeep who already told him she’s a ciccerone.”

Whenever someone looks for the authority figure they always go to the oldest white male. When I was a barista I had several great Black, Asian, and Latina managers, but people would always come to me like I was in charge (I presented masc then). It becomes really obvious pretty quickly. So messed up
