you know what it was like being full of the wrong hormone? scurvy. i was fucked. my body hurt. thinking felt like sucking oatmeal through a straw. if you’re trans, the right hormone hits like orange juice when you’ve had scurvy. i’m still on a sinking pirate ship, but my body & brain work again.

It’s not the same thing, I know, but a friend of mine had a hysterectomy due to endo. Her hormone levels were through the floor afterwards, and it was really obvious how bad it hit her, both mentally and physically. She has implants now, and she’s fine, but the effects were brutal

I’ve had scurvy and this is a fairly good analogy. Just this exhausting soul ache and feeling of deterioration, even physical at times.

Definately not everyone gets the biochemical dysphoria that is treated by just getting on right hormone, but I definitely did. Til I started E I had a persistent "sound" of an argument in another room in my head that I couldn't make out. Started E and finally silence. I know like a dozen with same
