While I was eating the chef came out from the back, poured himself a glass of whiskey (which I know is a no-no while you’re on the job) & walked back to the kitchen again while shaking his head. They had just got the call from the governor’s office to shut down for 4 weeks. It started to hit then.

Thinking quickly, I organized my friends for a (possibly final) End of the World bar crawl. There was nobody out except a handful of brave, socially distancing souls. We found ourselves at The Peddler’s Daughter in the end, the barman deciding to stay open as long as he could before the end.
