4/ They're graded based on the points they earn. Do chores together, get points. Eat meals together, cook and clean up together, get points. Go on a date, get points. Watch TV together, get points. If the couple gets an A in the first semester, they get to choose their partner second semester.

5/ So both people in the couple are trying to earn enough points to be with their crush second semester. Which means bonding really heavily first semester, which opens them up to falling in love with each other in the meantime. Meanwhile, their crushes are paired together, too.
