Voting in New York is fun because your ballot has the races you’ve heard about nonstop for months and then a list of 30 names for delegates to the state judicial convention, of which you have to choose 16, and the top results when googling their names are obituaries of people with similar names.

There are too many elected offices. Voting for people you couldn't possibly know doesn't advance democracy. At best, you're just democracy-washing candidates that were actually chosen by unaccountable power brokers in smoke-filled rooms.
