This is similar to why I push so hard up against a lot of utopian thinking. As soon as we fix something with the language of utopia, ie, *this* is a utopia, we stop thinking about how it isn't a utopia for some people, those whose difference is illegible to this utopian thinking. 1/2
I believe a lot of Utopic designs lose focus of what it would mean to live daily in them for a wide variety of people
Most of them have a very *self-insert* feeling
you need to believe a better world is possible & that we can build it. you *also* need to understand that humans are flawed, we have centuries of corruption & systemic oppression to dismantle, & a better world will take many iterations to get to.
if you ignore material conditions, shit gets weird.
