I think they have a vague idea of replacing the Tory Party as the standard bearer of the Right come the next election, possibly even transacting a reverse takeover of the Tories in the interim. The worse the Tories are crushed, the more likely that will happen. As per Canadian Conservatives?

There is the potential for this, but as for how effective this will be is debatable. The Tories have been moving ever further to the right, initially to see off and absorb UKIP, so the same could well happen with Reform, but I think this may render the Tories increasingly irrelevant to most voters.
