I did say rural Norfolk, you have to have been there and worked with institutions that interact with the people. I am basing my comments on what I experienced in education over 25 years ago. Things will have changed to a degree. What I experienced was quite a shock, I didn’t believe the warnings.

I live in Lynn, was brought up in rural Norfolk. The level of education here is poor, understanding of and interest in politics is negligible even in urban areas. People still vote how their parents voted. Norwich is a case apart, an isolated Hotel California of good sense.
