dinner conversation topic today with another technical female founder: as a woman, being smart is a gift mainly for you, nobody else cares, it doesn’t matter for people’s perception or treatment or you. i sort of hate it but i feel it.

coming back from dinner i passed a bookstore and in buying yet another stack of books realized my extreme reading habit is a perfect example of indulging in that gift. even if being smart doesn’t help me much per se i derive great joy from reading and learning a lot quickly.
