I remember seeing a hand drawn animated cartoon which had many weird episodes. In one, an elderly couple are greeting trick or treaters that come to their door by pulling on a string that wriggles a toy skeleton hung up by a pulley, as they both laugh and sit on a couch. Death appears.. 1/2

... at the door, his skull visible under his hood, but the couple thinks it is another trick or treater, and keep chuckling and wriggling the toy skeleton at it. Eventually their laughter goes quiet. I know I saw it as a kid, but I never saw it again and I have no idea what it was called.
