I agree the lawsuits are necessary, but there’s no guaranteed outcome. I believe one, at least, has already been dismissed, or dismissed in part. Lawsuits also take lots of time, during which common practice sets its own, not necessarily good, precedents.

Agreed. All I'm saying is that if Hollywood suddenly started making movie adaptations w/o permission b/c it's cheaper/easier, the proper response is not establishing a 'movie rights framework'. That already exists, and they're violating it. I don't see AI any differently. Time/lawsuits will tell.
