Yeah it’s unfortunate. But a few books have fallen into this format. It makes me wonder if these publishers are trying to fill a quota versus doing what in the best interest of the writer.

I was so close to buying, but someone personally told me about some of the writing and I knew it just wasn’t for me. Especially after it was advertised as no trauma and the first chapter is nothing but. But yes the way publishing has been treating Black authors and the content coming out is telling.
