I think we're seeing more quote-skeets because, in a sense, we don't receive feedback from our followers on reskeets like you do at the other site in your mentions saying who liked and reposted it. That makes it all feel less personal, so we're all quote-skeeting more than we might have otherwise.

But I think most people are engaging in good faith, even if there are occasional misunderstandings (in whether a quote is in favor or against) or douches dunking. Also, as other people have mentioned, the apocalyptic-block here is rather nice for ending people being jerks.
