Handy folks of BlueSky: My 14-year-old top-loading Estate by Whirlpool washing machine now does this thing where cold water keeps pouring in even after the cycle is over. I’ve turned off the cold water and that’s stopped it, but that’s obviously not a long-term solution.

I’m leaving tomorrow for 3 1/2 weeks in Ohio and really don’t want to come back to a flooded basement. Is this easily fixable or should I just leave the cold water off while I’m gone? (Just to the washing machine. I have plenty of cold water otherwise.)
