The worst thing about Dean is that he wasn't even being weird. His scream just seemed out of place because the unidirectional mic only picked up his voice and not the really loud crowd, making it seem like he was screaming like a madman when he was cheering along with the crowd.

This is correct (I was there in the building, and couldn't hear a thing), but the thing is that we had finished third and the campaign was over. The media gleefully dancing on the campaign's grave was *revealing* but it wasn't determinative.
