David Gerrold's novel "When Harlie Was One" (v2.0) has a scene where the general AI Harley tells the main human character how, as a computer, its sense of time is much faster than ours, operating on nanoseconds. Harlie spends ages waiting for us just to get to the next word in a sentence. 1/2
