awareness of your extreme mortality can be enough to dispel impostor syndrome. you have to die, and watch other people die. just do whatever before then.

I watched my mom waste away and it was excruciating. Covid hit, we went into lockdown, and she got a stage 4 diagnosis maybe a year into her retirement. During that time, we connected in a way we hadn't since I transitioned. But she didn't make it. We have so little time here.
