equivalently big name dems really gotta start talking w/ this level of seriousness. We're in an existential fight for the grandest experiment in human history - a state that sometimes tries to be built on something *past* the nation state.

The more history you read the more astounding a large multicultural immigrant democracy is, the more astounding it is that hundreds of thousands died for that democracy rather than an ethnic nation state. And we've really only had sixty-ish years to truly try it out.
