It's a good broad enough question that people will give any answer to. I end up asking for more information because people don't like being descriptive

When I get specific, I get questioned why I'm 'asking about X', as though I have some motive behind it, so I tend to stay vague. I WANT to be more direct, but experience tells me to let others just answer how they want. Also makes me come off as 'distant and uninterested', but can't avoid it.
