And then there's JKR's revelation that there's a genetic component to being magical. And Europe needing 3 magic schools while all of mainland Asia only needing 1 certainly implies some things about the world.

But apparently Asia is also the place where the most Ancient magic stuff comes from.... Just vaguely, there's no actual effort to get into the details of different forms of magic whatsoever that often is entrenched in specific cultural practices and beliefs.
