Racism is baked in to our society. Even in BIPOC. Our institutions uphold it, and anyone trying to deconstruct it is vilified. Add on top of that capitalist doctrine teaches us that we can all work hard and succeed, and people decide that oppressed people just aren't working hard enough.

And if those people are working hard and not succeeding? It's easy to surmise it's because the bad people (Black, brown, immigrants, LGBTQIA) are taking what's yours. And the media, even liberal media, plays into it, because it's popular.
