It's also sadly not that rare for companies to buy the rights to something and then do absolutely nothing with it. I hope that doesn't happen here.

It looks like they'll be doing something given the promo art with team rwby in new designs. It could just be a comic or manga or something but at least we'll likely get a continuation of the story somehow. It also sounds like they're very interested in at least new releases of media and merch!
