Advantage plan is portrayed as no brainer. In pre retirement, choice is a simple insurance option set. But when we retire it’s like the LSAT! Medicare or Medicare Advantage or Supplement (and sub plans within). The avg person has no idea how Advantage plans are funded or incentivized. Just sayin!

Fascinating. I was going to give my son and daughter the exact same offer. They had to give it away to two or more people or two entities who they felt could most benefit from the money. But not simply United Way etc. I haven’t done it Because I think it might backfire, but I really like the idea.

I remember a depiction of an office w/ papers everywhere and the conclusion. And below it two headings - either a man’s office or a woman’s office. If it was a woman’s office she was disorganized and unfocused. If a man’s office he was heavily involved in multiple important tasks at the same time.

I don’t think it would convey the right image if everything was in its place no papers out, etc. I fear the student response might be just the opposite don’t you have any papers to grade aren’t you working on any publications or research? Do you actually have this office?

Yesterday’s ACIP was really informative. I watched & listened to the Covid presentation. For me a major highlight was the Q and A and the comments associated with the amendment to the committee’s initial recommendation. The discussion on the use of the word “may” vs “should” was very insightful.

What an incredible book.I was a Squadron Commander in the AF in the 80s & everything you said resonated w/ me every day. The military complex is such a huge entity with established inertia and direction. However, I couldn’t help but think about the need for it to be agile, flexible and adaptable.

They did spend considerable time discussing that. Their ultimate goal was to ensure that older Americans & those that are immunocompromised got the vaccine. However, at the same time they were concerned other groups may think that the vaccine is not effective because it had to be used again.

The fiscal lens is certainly important, but it’s one lens. Having gone through this, I can say that financially it’s atrocious, but the benefits, the joy, the intangibles are - priceless! Just one Opinion! :-)
