Newton and Boston roads aren’t bad for cycling. They’re life-threatening. I saw a boy on a wobbly mountain bike almost bounce into oncoming traffic yesterday when he hit a huge pothole that was hard to see because of the rain. It’s surprising more people haven’t perished out here.

I hit two deep holes I couldn’t avoid and almost lost my wheel on some newly “repaired” tarmac. Truly harrowing.
