The thing I can't stop thinking about is this: I'm 48, and in my adult lifetime there has been one Republican who won the popular vote. But I will probably spend the rest of my life under the authority of a Supreme Court dominated by hard right conservatives. How is that democracy?

They are worthless "vote harder" calamities. I'm sure Nancy Pelosi is already sending out fundraising emails. The Democratic leadership had all the time in the world to prepare for this. Crickets. I saw someone say we should expect a stern letter from Schumer saying "Shame on them," any day now.

I’m a big proponent of the idea you don’t make your emotions anybody else’s burden. Even in a relationship. My partner isn’t my therapist. Carry your own water. Process your feelings on your own or with a pro.

Newton and Boston roads aren’t bad for cycling. They’re life-threatening. I saw a boy on a wobbly mountain bike almost bounce into oncoming traffic yesterday when he hit a huge pothole that was hard to see because of the rain. It’s surprising more people haven’t perished out here.
