Feels like some kind of Yamaha swap would be appropriate, but also a sin. A great toy if I had an airplane hangar car collection.

To my eyes & in my mind, this is a continuation of the Ford Probe concept series.
Also, it's good. I liked that series.

Every yr I cancel my WSJ* sub for a few wks until I get the invite back for $52/yr. Curious as to who pays full price which is > $500 yr.
[*For anyone surprised I'd have a WSJ sub, the news part is really good! Esp business & tech. Also Dan Neil. And real estate. I do not read the op/eds.]

After washing, then debugging/detaring my partner's vehicle, all I need to do is rinse and do a quick rewash so of course this happens lol
No rain for like the past month too. The odds... π€£

Hendersonville area. Friends of ours built their forever home there and moved about 3 years ago. We go down once or twice a year to visit and relax, hike, swim, etc.

In a perfect world I'd find a vintage late 50s Navitimer @ an estate sale and get it for a steal. That won't happen.
If I had to guess, a year for now, I'll still be pining similarly.
But I may do something low-mid-market bc I can accept pricing in the 3 figure/low 4 figure range.

Also same re: playing right/left. I originally played right for dexterity reasons. But decided to switch back when messing around a few years ago and realized I'd trade the dexterity for a more natural "feel" of that makes sense.

That's what it is, a Squier. Surprisingly good sound for being basic, esp for the $. I saw the model - from the Classic Vibe '70s Series they did - and wanted it, esp the all black. Only had 3 lefty models left in the US, one was 90 miles away, so I drove the distance to get it last November.

Nicest watch I own is a Citizen Titanium Blue Angels chrono. It's a little big for my wrist, but I love it all the same. Was a gift abt 15 yrs ago. Honestly from a price standpoint it's where a frugal person like me belongs - but I would so love a Navitimer.

I bought a basic but nice Strat, new. Switching back to playing/relearning left handed [I'm left handed for some things - throwing/writing, ambidextrous for others]. Gave my righty acoustic to my kids.

Had a love of chronographs since before grade school. Decades back took a liking to Breitlings - vintage to new. Cross those 2 ideas & that's what I'd love. A new Navitimer Chrono would be lovely, but they're so pricey for someone as unspendy [frugal] as me. I scour sites for vintage, but idk.

I almost never buy myself anything. Last year I bought myself a new guitar @ the encouragement of my partner.
Over the next year or so I would like to buy my first really nice watch [I've been a "watch guy" since I could tell time]. She has not encouraged that yet.

Owner of the pub I go to just bought this 740 Turbo. Probably his 4th Volvo wagon [a 240 is one of the pub's logos]. He's also owned an OG VW GTI, an '87 944 with only 22K mi, and daily drives an early '60s Ford Galaxie. He's only in his 30s so he's not an old guy, he's just a weird cars guy π

I'm basically getting one data breach email a month now from businesses with which I have or had relationships. I know hackers are really good at what they do, but how are companies so fucking bad at what they're supposed to do & why are there NEVER consequences?

A car so achingly good I'd buy one even though it violates two of my rules: it's not a full manual & it has no option for sun/wind overhead
