I came here to recommend this. I'm on the second book, and the first—The Fifth Season—is one of the best things I've ever read. Violence and emotions aplenty. Also geology.

I had no symptoms those last few days, which made the last couple positive tests really frustrating. FWIW, I still think that route is correct if you think about how the test works. Virus in your nose triggers antibodies painted on paper. I don't want to breathe that out to someone else.

It's super frustrating. When I was sick in Feb, I picked the most cautious option, rapid testing. I know that really frustrated my boss ("he just needs to stop testing"), and it was I think 14 days before I went back in public. Testing is also expensive now, so I waited a few days between each.

I have a 10.5 mile ride to campus. The e-bike makes it so much more manageable than my acoustic bike. Less sweat, less worn out when I get there. 40 minutes instead of 60. I still wind up driving when I can't afford 40 minutes for the commute, but I'm much more likely to ride.

In high school and undergrad, I learned to enjoy poetry, but only by reading one or two poems by a given poet, and only from a few famous poets. It's been years since I really read any. How would someone like me get into enjoying poetry? Where would I even start? It's overwhelming.

I think the movie here is in line with Christian ethics, but culture warlords like Camp reject that in favor of violent revenge fantasy (hence diehard support for Trump as a violent avenger).

Worth noting the movies he lists are partly about killing enemies & revenge. In TPB, Westley lets the enemy live and Inigo makes a profound statement about how hollow his revenge left him. Also, TPB is still one of my favs, but the "perfect breasts" line scandalized me as a young evangelical.
