Right. And Democrats know this, which is why everyone is panicking over Biden’s inability to come across in the debate. I also think the Biden team hasn't fully understood to what degree the 2020 election result was based in a referendum on Trump rather than enthusiasm for Biden.

Yeah, the last two candidates democrats had were begrudging votes as it is, and both were like, anti-Trump votes. The second one worked, but he wasn't held as accountable as he should've been, and now we're here (not the only reason, but it's one of the big ones)

I believe a fairly large percentage of people who voted for Biden in 2020 would likely have voted for almost any candidate not Trump. And I think many on the Biden team believe his victory was because he magically fired up voters despite hardly campaigning before Super Tuesday.
