I really wanted to hate Lestat. But that last episode, oh man. Now, I can’t help but love him. That conversation absolutely broke my heart. Interview with the Vampire: what brilliant writing, what incredible performances, what excellent directing and what a phenomenal tv series it really is.

Loved that opening sequence in The Bad Batch s3e14 when Omega informs the kids that the sounds of laser cannons means that help has finally come. “They’ve finally found me.” “Who?” “My brothers.” The way she said brothers with such love and reverence! You could feel it.

What of the Kiera Knightley adaptation, Willow? and while we're on adaptations, did you like the new Emma adaptation with Anya Taylor Joy? I find that both of these adaptations are super polarising and either incredibly loved or hated by book lovers 👀

I'm working on a graphic novel project at the moment and have been wondering about this very thing. My head tells me that greyscale values will help the art of my pages 'pop' at the end of the project, but I don't know if my heart could take dealing with such muted pages for long.

In Australia today, an article was published that one-third of our four million school students cannot read proficiently. So 8/24 students in a typical classroom. Not only is this horrible for our students, but for teachers it further exacerbates burnout and impedes teaching.

That’s probably one of the things the movie did really well. Although I was familiar all their stories, it felt like they bridged that ‘knowledge gap’ for new viewers quite masterfully.

Re: MCU — the biggest problem with the multiverse is that it feels like nothing matters anymore. When triumph and consequence become meaningless, so too does the power of a story. But standalone stories that shun the multiversal miasma still manage to have resonance. For now.

I’m just a layman but I enjoyed reading this piece, Chris. You made me appreciate the cultural significance of the hashtag (even in its somewhat appearance) and your suggestions for the direction it can move it feel like a natural improvement, without reinventing the wheel so to speak.

For me the loss of community connections and weird online friendships is the most tragic. Somehow, that app was wonderfully effective in cultivating that. I really hope we’ll be able to reconnect on other platforms like this one and foster that here. Inshallah🤞🏼
