Do they work today as a concept? They always seemed to me like a weird blend of silver age goofiness and a continuity that is intimidating even by comic standards. Is it possible the best place for them at the moment is as a little side setting for other DC adventures?

I don’t think they have to feel goofy or intimidating. I think there are ways to make them cool. Would they work? I hope I get to find out someday.

People wondered if they could work in the 90s, and they did Today I Imagine an "Olympics" of the best of each planet competing for a Legion spot, then young teens learning together if they win. Percy Jackson, Hunger Games, more show people can enjoy seeing them grow into heroes/train w/o goofiness
