When I drew this, I did eyeball the positions of the guards, but with the deliberate intent to make it ambiguous which squares they were actually "in" - to best reflect the true CAPTCHA experience.

I'm afraid *I* got this through a screenshot shared in a discord (I've just been saving the ones I find funny) - so I don't have any more context.

The Microsoft Zune had a feature that allowed you to share your music with another Zune user for a limited period, if you put the two devices near each other you could send your tracks over and they'd be able to play them for 30 days. They called this feature "squirting", so term's already bagsied.

I'm going on holiday in a month or go, so I figured I'd check my travel pencil case to see what supplies I have packed to go. I think it'd pretty up to date. (I don't take colours while away, I'll just do sketches/linework, and save colouring for my home setup where I have light I'm used to.)

surely it's possible to chase the international date line in a vehicle if that vehicle is a very slow plane or a satellite?

Hexahedra is 10 days away from release!

Still one or two things to tweak, but it's pretty much there!

I've long been a big advocate of handmade custom things from individual artists or craftspeople - there's passion and love put into the work, and you can get exactly what you want, rather than settling for "good enough."

Even so, Mike knocked it out of the park.

So my approach has been to lament my bad drawers, and every month or so, do a little search around sites like etsy and ebay, just to see if anyone is selling anything that might suit my needs. Until a couple months ago, I found a lovely man called Mike who lives in Oxford and has a store on Etsy.

So... for multiple years, I've been looking out for a "good" version of this. The same general design and dimensions, but better build quality. You'd think there'd be options out there for artists, but there really aren't. There's some "laser cut your own" designs from mdf, but that's about it.

The main issue is, they're rather cheaply made. The wood warps over time, and mine has gotten to the point where the drawers stick badly on opening and closing. Newer versions have an extra support bar at the top AND bottom of the unit, but that means it wouldn't fit into the space on my desk.

Anyway, for the last (forever) I've been using one of those flat drawer sets that just has compartments, but no internal sleeves for holding individual pencils. They're currently sold on amazon by "MEDEEN" and a million other fake company names. They're okay, but they have some problems.

Some people haven't ever seen pencil extenders before, so behold: (left ones are Derwent, Right ones are e+m. I really like the e+m ones.) - these are made by a lot of pencil companies, and let you add length to a stubby pencil so you can continue using it comfortably.

Thing is, I have limited space on my desk, and because I use all my pencils a lot, they're in a state where I have approximately every length of pencil in equal frequency. A compartment where I can mix them all up lets me store more than having individual slots, as well as store pencil extenders.

The third option seems to be what people actually use - horizontal flat drawers. These are good, because they actually store a lot of pencils, but most of them store pencils kind of space-inefficiently, with every pencil having it's own dedicated slot. Again, good when all your pencils are new...

These products seem to exist for the sole purpose of making aesthetically pleasing store page photographs, but seem utterly impractical for anyone actually using them on a daily basis. It's easy to store your pencils in a pretty way if you don't use them, it seems.

The second option appears to be very common on amazon and other websites - vertical storage organizers, like the one in these pictures. Not only are these phenoemally cheaply made (often laser cut from cheap wood or 3d printed), but they again make it impossible to find a short pencil.

Pencil rolls are okay but you can't store a lot of colours. I use coloursoft pencils which don't blend well, so I need to have every colour I'm going to use. I want to store about 200 pencils. Also... what do you do if you actually USE your pencils and they get shorter? throw them away?

There seem to be three options out there, so let's look at them. The first is just storing everything jumbled up in a large pencil case, which makes finding the one pencil you want awful. Alternatively you can get a "pencil roll" (like the one in the picture.) and store ~ 30 pencils for easy access

Ever since I started drawing with pencils, I've struggled a bit with having a good system for storing colour pencils and accessing the ones I want quickly. Almost every commercial product out there is bad for my purposes - many of them seem designed by people who don't have to use them at all.
