I have enjoyed games that go against their series style/narrative before, like Nuts and Bolts, bad Banjo Kazooie game, but otherwise a fun "build-your-own" vehicle game. The rest of the gameplay of Other M was fun tho, even if I disliked those segments and the story.

honestly, probably the latter. They were horrid, that and the honestly bad story(and the weird rubber suits) are why I don't like the game really. Like, even taking the story as is, no consideration of anything else Metroid, it's not well written.

I legit hate streaming platforms for doing this It happens with made up languages too on some shows, like the Gelf on Red Dwarf. the original VHS had subtitles for them, and the Amazon Prime videos don't.

I used to be able to charge my hybrid at the general store/pharmacy, then a big power outage hit and they NEVER fixed the only charging station I can use. It's been almost a year now.

Legends 2 is honestly my favorite PS1 game. Though I tend to play through both when I get the urge to play them. Just this morning I did the Technical Course in Legends 1.

When you eventually finish up with the ZX games I hope there'll be an easy way to go to Legends by then. When you get to that point, remember to check the options menu, I always have to change the turn option to be on the D-pad instead of L1/R1

This week was my last followup doctor visit for my recent stay at the hospital, and I got a bit more work done UV mapping and weight painting my vtuber model. only have a couple parts to go before I move on to getting all the textures ready.

honestly, Final Fantasy 3 feels bigger than Skyrim, despite having less "traversable" 1:1 scale areas. classic rpgs with world maps feel bigger than modern action rpgs to me partly because you don't have to see the same/similar landscape for a half hour while walking between unique locations.

I just don't like the exploration as much in Elden Ring. TBF, I've grown fatigued/tired of two genre, Open world, and action rpgs. Both feel so ridiculously common in AAA game dev. I don't mind games being open, but IMO Open World kinda made things too open in some games for my liking.

That was my initial experience with DS1, but pushed through partly because I was tired of giving in to rage quitting(my reason for stopping back then). I used DS1 to overcome that. After that I felt things click with skill making progression doable. I leveled up, even if my character didn't.

I still felt accomplished having figured it out. Elden Ring it's pretty much just "can I jump there with the horse?" or "oh, I just kill that guy to get through"

Recovery has gone well this week, I've gotten some more progress done on my vtuber model, getting ever closer to being able to stream some dev time. I only have one more doctor visit until I'm done with needing to deal with follow up stuff.

Like, the past DS and Bloodborne games feel rewarding for the effort of exploration, partly because they're NOT open world. Elden Ring just kinda felt samey, like I wasn't actually getting to new areas, so it didn't give me that sense of exploration the past games had for me.

did they actually make it that much harder? I guess I'll just skip the DLC entirely then because it was hard enough to motivate myself to explore the existing open world with Souls level difficulty. I eventually gave up because the exploration didn't really feel rewarding for the effort.

I beat the boss, I just didn't feel like it was worth continuing, I lost interest at that point after exploring most of the southern areas and killing a dragon in a cave for a katana. The open worldness just kinda, killed my enjoyment of the game tbh.

no, I agree with you, I find myself still replaying any of the Dark Souls games more than even continuing Elden Ring. I only got to the first major area blocking boss, I can't even remember their name, just that they were at a fort north of the start of the game.

Or play Amnesia the Dark Descent. Yea it has monsters' but not really jumpscares with them, it's more atmospheric. As someone with Nyctophobia, I have a hard time playing it. It does a good job pressing the phobia buttons.
