Oh, totally! I wish our response were more driven by genuine public health experts. Lab science and clinical care are amazing, but not the same. That said, as far as I recall, mucosal vaccines were “the future” when I was studying so I’m glad to hear any insight from people who know more!*

*Not that I mean to set myself up as an up-to-date expert on public health preparedness and response, either. My time working on that was during the first round of concern about H5N1, not long after SARS 1.0. Ancient history, now!
