It's Juneteenth! I think it's very weird for the USA to have a Juneteenth holiday celebrating the end of slavery without really acknowledging the slavery part, nor undoing the still present, lasting harm of centuries of enslavement Black folks still live amidst the effects...

"We should all celebrate the end of slavery" - Juneteenth = last enslaved folks learning they'd been "free" for 2yrs 🙃 - Slavery didn't "end" (13th Amendment) - Need to dismantle how history teaches that slavery was no one's fault + reparations are thus no one's responsibility
