In 2011 the UK had a referendum on replacing the First Past the Post electoral system with a preferential voting system, but it was rejected with around 66% voting NO.

Its the same in Aus - the new PM is sworn in by Gov Gen before the new Parliament assembles. Provided there is clear cut winner.

I can remember when Kangaroos would put in a solid 8 hours of grazing. Not like the lazy Kangaroos we got these days - laying around in the sun!!

Definitely! It may be a prophecy of England's cricket tours of Australia (ie Down Under ) where they routinely arrive full of optimism only to suffer a humiliating defeat. Gilgamesh says he lost his bat and ball in the underworld - ie his batting and bowling failed Down Under playing Australia.

.... the relevance to your quote being that Lewis and Duckworth (very recently) have both passed away ... and Stern is, for the sake of the tables he produces, hopefully still sane.

There is one left. Its DLS - Duckworth Lewis Stern - and Mr Stern is hanging on. I hear that he currently re-jigs the tables every year, to reflect performances in the previous 4 years.

๐Ÿ .... After 50 overs India Women vs South Africa women

India 271/0 after 50 overs

S. Mandhana 141
S. Verma 128

But it's a test match not an ODI !!!!

Could get very nasty for South African bowlers.

Last 10 overs 68 / 0

Yes some bowlers in cricket will bowl a knuckleball as a variation. In cricket its an innovation, adopted from baseball, in the last 10 years or so, and becoming more common. Andrew Tye, an Australian is well known for it, using it as a surprise weapon.

Cricket matches are notorious for attracting rain and bad weather .... the bluest skies soon darken at the sound of ball hitting bat. Droughts have broken by the scheduling of cricket matches.
