Definitely! It may be a prophecy of England's cricket tours of Australia (ie Down Under ) where they routinely arrive full of optimism only to suffer a humiliating defeat. Gilgamesh says he lost his bat and ball in the underworld - ie his batting and bowling failed Down Under playing Australia.

Yes some bowlers in cricket will bowl a knuckleball as a variation. In cricket its an innovation, adopted from baseball, in the last 10 years or so, and becoming more common. Andrew Tye, an Australian is well known for it, using it as a surprise weapon.

Cricket matches are notorious for attracting rain and bad weather .... the bluest skies soon darken at the sound of ball hitting bat. Droughts have broken by the scheduling of cricket matches.
