AI is going to destroy the world... or at least profoundly damage it... because we are pouring precious resources into a very inefficient way of almost seeming to do things we can already do without it. Because we are damaging the environment and destroying ways of making a living for it.

The danger of AI is that the people who keep making the decisions that companies need to chew up themselves, their workers, and their customers to generate maximum return on investment will order up a program that tells them "You should keep doing this" and then insist they are obliged to obey.
