As the Tories have actively tried to stop the young from easily voting, I find it terribly sad that some of them (especially the ones historically disenfranchised) have chosen to not vote. As more than one said they weren’t because “no-one they know” wasn’t, perhaps we need influencers to help?

Yeah, I think influencers could make a big difference. But the disillusionment runs deep, and who can blame them? My daughter’s generation (she’s 19, so whatever’s after Z? Idk) is inheriting a warming, polluted, unstable world presided over by wealthy old sociopaths. No wonder they’re cynical.

The thing about influencers is how they create influence. They, like television programs, are there to hold your attention so the platforms and channels can show you advertising. Influencers are platform serfs, promoted by algorithms. If they didn’t think a certain way they wouldn’t have prominence.
