Project 2025 looks way more like modern competitive authoritarianism in the mold of Turkey, Hungary, or what Modi and Bibi are trying and failing to do, in that the main group that is disempowered is, explicitly, the other party.

For example, black Republicans who allow themselves to be tokenized can get on SCOTUS under this system; under Jim Crow, it was unthinkable. In contrast, Jim Crow didn't mind Republicans if they were part of the system, as when George H. W. Bush ran for Congress on an anti-miscegenation platform.
