Can't remember where it's from exactly but there's a Werner Herzog quote about how chickens are an evil and stupid animal but also tasty when fried. It's up there with him saying that sometimes watching crazy cat videos is good

what if you took five or so music producers from different genres and gave them really silly challenges for pieces to compose, and filmed the process. Then afterwards they all gathered in a studio and some dude had to judge which one they liked the best. I call it Tracksmaster

The current season has been like 70% logistics of organizing a large festival, 20% people having sinister political talks behind the scenes and the rest is anime fighting, it's the right balance for me

the ideal Englishman is Wallace from Wallace and Gromit, the further an English man strays from this ideal, the longer he is doomed to hellfire

Yeah it's "reincarnated as a slime" and fallout 76 for me, which weirdly would work, since the former is mostly about one person using their power to improve society somewhat by building infrastructure and uniting disparate groups of people

Update: CyGames are cowards, none of the new summer characters are sumo related, didn't even have the main sumo guy and his fishwoman wife nor did it have the little kappa child

I heard a similar complaint about the English 'go' in the past from someone who spoke English as a second language, where there's no rhyme or reason to what meaning or function it's gonna have when paired with another word. compare 'go on' with 'go off' with 'go down' with 'go by'

Dofus/Wakfu are also remorselessly French, I don't think I'm nearly French enough to enjoy them.

Sometimes there's just accidentally a game from the late '90s that's way more progressive than stuff in the last 25 years and you just have to understand how it happened. Why was persona 2 innocent sin way more progressive and LGBTQ than Atlus games after it

There should be an MMORPG where all the classes are weird and unique and things don't cleanly fit into established MMO conventions.

GBF's current summer event is another in the tradition of very silly summer events that are still canon. Turns out sumo is an inherently chaotic supernatural force that can both create and destroy, and also it's a sport

Yeah I'm with you on that, baking is sometimes like doing a fun chemistry experiment, working with hot sugar feels like tampering with the demon core. Haven't tried it at all myself, too intimidated.

It could very well be that since I mostly had Jewish North African stuff, since it's slightly different. But I'm mostly thinking about the pastries, which I can't eat anyways on account of the celiac

Pastilla usually has both a meaty savoriness as well as a kick of spices to it that the sugar serves to enhance. In general I think North African food manages a very good balance between sweet and salty, but I do wish some of the stuff wasn't as greasy and oily because my guts can't handle it

I love that the solution is "what if there was an underground human zoo where all the people were cool and loved sonic" instead of "a group of cool humans exist somewhere, previously untouched by the uncool humans"
