Of all the things people are saying the Democrats/Biden should do to make sure he wins in November, the least controversial is to talk about abortion rights over and over and over and over...
Appeals to abstract notions of democracy are great but abortion access is how we maintain democracy.
This is why I want the ERA to become an issue, since Congress can affirm it with simple majorities, and then any law they pass on abortion has extra protection against the Court. A constitutional amendment mixes abortion and democracy together, while inspiring people to believe we can change things.
porque no los 2?
'Trump/GOP candidates, all the way down, want the government to make your most personal decisions. They want a jury trial for a doctor who saves a woman's life after fetal death. They want to open your mail & check your state residency before you get an abortion. That's not freedom.
Well yeah of course. Just thinking in pure transactional terms, one ALWAYS leads with the Good Stuff one will provide if elected. Access to health care is good stuff. This isn't rocket surgery.
Whereas, our Republic and how it's supposedly set to work? Most voters don't really give a crap.
