The elephant in the room remains social care - no government has come up with a proper plan for that. Ironically the ‘dementia tax’ was an attempt to do something bold to fix it but it was electoral Kryptonite.

Yep. Agree there needs to be changes. But I have a dad in long term care for dementia so admit I may not be objective this area.

(You can’t fix waiting lists if all the elective bed stock is full of people who can’t leave hospital as they’re waiting for social care packages)
