Not entirely devoid of self-interest here, but when somebody on social media says “here’s my take on what’s going on,” they’re not the reason the bad things are happening, even if they’re wrong. We’re not the ones making the really big bad things happen. None of us.

this is of course true. but it's also true that there are more of us than there are of them, and it will take a collective, mass effort to stop the really big bad things that are being imposed. we're the victims, but we also have to know we're empowered to fight to change that status

I’ve so many people taking other folks’ opinions VERY personally. A: “we should vote against Trump” B: “how dare you blame disaffected marginalized people for this” C: “both options are bad” D: “how dare you blame those of us who are trying to save democracy for this” etc etc

If we are eligible US voters, yes we are. And please don't let's minimize the effects of propaganda. If social media propaganda in particular didn't work, bad actors worldwide wouldn't invest so much in it. It has been very conclusively proved that it does.

And since it apparently needs saying, when I say we’re not the reason the really big bad things are happening, I’M NOT DENYING THAT WE HAVE AGENCY.

yet again the "some people are truly grappling with the point blank reality of having basically no influence on their elected officials and it is leading them to bad places"
