I assume that most of the hundred most powerful Dems understand that. As an exercise, let's say they all do, but also: Ten of them think Biden is the best shot of winning. Thirty think he has to go. The other sixty aren't sure yet. Seems to me that what we're seeing is consistent with that.

I'm sure that's probably what's going on. It doesn't make it any less frustrating to behold, though. (And it was Prem Thakker who said the above, though I didn't get the quote 100% correct.)
