Fancy Dance, a film starring Golden Globe winner Lily Gladstone, is receiving rave reviews. The film premiered a year ago at Sundance Film Festival but just recently hit theatres. Enoch Cree Nation's Crystle Lightning also has a role in the film.

A medical examiner has identified the remains of a body found last month in Maskwacis, Alberta. Seventeen-year-old Christopher Crier went missing from his community of Samson Cree Nation in October 2022. RCMP says it is still an active investigation.

Tuesday marks the 25th anniversary of the creation of Nunavut. The Parliament of Canada passed the Nunavut Land Claims Agreement Act and the Nunavut Act in 1993, but it wasn’t until 1999 that Nunavut was recognized as Canada’s youngest territory.

The village of Alberta Beach, about 70 km northwest of Edmonton, and their heritage museum held an event called Bridge Between Nations. The village and museum worked with Alexis Nakota Sioux Nation to unveil a tipi as their newest permanent exhibit.
