Orbital solar power. You know, the whole thing with giant collectors in orbit using microwave beams to send the power back to Earth.

There's a civilization in which 'netcat' causes an ASCII cat to appear on someone else's screen.

That reminds me of an idea I'd like to see: A twisted variation of the Zelda cycle where a screwup by past-Ganon results in an evil uber-Zelda, an imprisoned Link, and a present-Ganon who has to defeat Zelda, free Link, and save Hyrule.

Personally, I think I'd find that or just activating the photo mode to be disappointing. They put so much effort into tracking the orbits and rotations of the celestial objects that having a "functional" telescope that doesn't exploit that would make me sad.

It's not a problem unique to Starfield, and it doesn't matter much in most cases, but when you're talking about using a big observatory-sized telescope I could see it being an issue.

I'm betting it's a level-of-detail issue, at least in part. When you zoom in on something the game engine doesn't know or is unable to swap to the appropriate higher-quality models and textures.

The recipe sites are assuming you care about how fat you are, how high your blood pressure is, and how clogged your arteries are. Restaurants do not care. At all. In fact, there is a distinct possibility the kitchen staff is maximizing your sugar, salt, and fat intake out of spite.

I assume she was referring to my reply last night, but that's all I was trying to say. 🤷♂️

It wouldn't apply to "we own all of your creative work while you're employed by us" contract terms. IANAL, but that's my read. Be very careful.

Apologies if this has already been covered elsewhere/in private, but Re working for the certain studio: You may want to talk to a lawyer about your contract and the FTC rule. My read is that the rule would apply to "you're not allowed to work in a related job if you leave" noncompetes.

You should try Vivaldi if you haven't already. Especially if you liked Opera before Opera became a subpar Chrome knockoff. Chromium engine and extension support, built-in ad blocker, built-in mouse gesture support, highly customizable.

Oh man, you're in for a treat. If it weren't for Strange New Worlds, I'd say it's the best Star Trek since DS9, maybe even TNG.

Wait, there's a version that has sugar? I've had it a time or two here in the US, but it always has aspartame, which is nasty.

ThinkGeek when it still had lots of weird niche products and not just huge piles of the same pop culture junk you can buy anywhere.

I don't think I've ever seen someone call Cyclops a narc. Boring? Sure. Boy Scout? Yup. Kind of an uptight dick? Yeah. But not a narc.

That specific example is only a plot hole if the story depends on it in some way, otherwise it's just a continuity error.
