Hey, remember how librarians and I were warning everyone that mass book-banning is just step one of a fascist government takeover?
Well, some of the same book-banning orgs we warned you about are on the advisory board for Project 2025, whose leader calls it a "second American Revolution.”

She's seeing Dr. Parent in Pittsburgh. After she got the appointment, she saw on Reddit that he's fairly popular in our area, so she was happy to get him :) We're limited in where she can go due to the insurance. But not disappointed :)

I had a bag of small sections of birch branch. I realized it would be perfect for sticking one of the trees into it. I'd bought the bag of branch bits to carve, but I like this so much more.

How else are you supposed to learn unless you ask? I don't understand the mindset that would go from sausage to bigot. I'm glad there were sane people you were able to discuss sausage with :)

I am pretty sure he's mentioned it before. Of course he's going to deny it though. If his mouth is open, he's lying. He doesn't have the awareness to know that he's already spoken about the subject.

DB? She's doing everything in Pittsburgh via the UPMC Plastic Surgery Center. They are awesome there (I went for her consult with her)

My gf was just approved for her BA, and is trying very hard to get it scheduled potential changes. She was hoping for FFS, but the surgeon's already scheduling into 2025 for that one :(

This is the actual little tree I made this morning. It is seated in a tiny jar filled with the same beads as are on the ends of the branches, with resin holding it in place.

This morning's quiet is so soothing after all of the loud booms last night.

My meds kicked in before my dog's sadly, so I was unable to fully capitalize on them. Happily, my gf's anti-anxieties helped her immensely though. But much like you, it's not just the BOOMs, it's the what-ifs my brain plays.

Melatonin and ZZZquil were worthless for me. A THC/CBD 1:1 blend is about the only thing I find that helps me. YMMV, as it doesn't help my son at all :/ Insomnia sucks.

thank you :) I have an urge to make a lot of them in different colors. And have a large quantity of beads and stones on their way to fulfill this hyperfixation :D

New hyperfixation incoming! I've been toying with wire wrapping. I started as a way to make little staves for my mushroom wizards, but I saw some wire trees on Temu and thought "Hey, I can do that!" So I did! #wirewrap #tree #art #artist

From Googling, it appears to be a 2000 interview on the BBC. There are links on Threads to request it.

I do walk daily...and it helps. Art is my go-to for calming the brain. I just had the misfortune of Things to Do today, which left me doomscrolling while I was waiting to leave. About to get off social media and drown in drawing.

I feel very, very tired. Just biding my time until I can take enough drugs to make the existential horror subside enough to breath.

And you think trump is? Because that's what it amounts to. But hey, why not support a fascist here too? With only two choices, yes, I'm voting for the lesser of two evils. Am I happy? Not really, but I will. Small progress is better than skyrocketing backwards.

To add: that Supreme Court has continued whittling away at freedoms, and will continue to do so. My partner and child are trans, and I'm terrified of another tRump presidency, or any Repub (since they have the same playbook) Biden has flaws, but his biggest positive is he's not 45.

Our youngest learned to read by playing Pokemon together with us (not just Pokemon, but it helped). And got their first raid leading experience calling out kill order in WoW (they are now a young adult, and raid-lead in FFXIV) We played together as a family. it was a good bonding activity :)

My gf saw this beetle while she was mowing today. Google says it's a grapevine beetle, which would make sense, as it was clinging to one of the wild grape vines that are everywhere around our house. #insect #invertibrate #beetle

Yes, I bought a mold and made a purple heart today. I have a load of clear resin I'd bought for some little trees I was making. I bought sparkly mica powder today. The edges need sanded, but kinda like it :)

The common milkweed is one of the things growing in my little pollinator's corner that I started this year (also have dog fennel, candytuft, zinnia, red clover, and more) I did not plant the milkweed or fennel, but they're growing anyway. I blame bird poop.

And THIS is why I wake up to work at 4 a.m. I am upstairs working on clean lineart for the next coloring book. My phone has been non-stop texts. I try not to DND too early, but holy hell.
