My terminal real estate is usually dedicated to two vertical splits in nvim, so other long-running buffers are in a different terminal tabs. The context switching of `:w<ctrl+tab>` isn't jarring for most use-cases. For things that on a hotter path (like tests), I'll use an nvim terminal buffer.

tmux is probably not going to be super useful to you then, i use it in place of an integrated editor terminal, but i never used it when i was still using vscode's integrated terminal
